3 Rivers Veterinary Symposium

Pittsburgh
/
November 2-3
/
12+ CE Hours

If you like to take physical notes, you can print any presentations from Whova in advance. Feel free to use laptops, tablets, and smart phones during session activities, but be sure to put your devices on silent.

Most people stick with business casual for all of the events. A few will be in jeans and a few will be in suits, but that’s the exception. We do suggest that you wear layers, because room temperatures can vary and when one person is very cold, the next person can be warm!

The Wyndham offers valet parking starting at $43/overnight and $33/day, and has a list of recommended parking facilities in the area.

Your conference registration includes breakfast and lunch for each day of the conference.

Only registered attendees and those with a guest pass will be allowed in the MarketPlace for meals. Guest passes are available for purchase when you register for the conference.

If you have already registered and need to add a guest pass, please contact Corinne at CTolan@PaVMA.org with the name of your guest(s).

This year’s Three Rivers Veterinary Symposium is only offered in person. There will be no virtual component.

Whova is an event platform that PVMA has used since 2021. It allows attendees, speakers, and exhibitors to easily interact with each other before, during, and after the symposium. With Whova, you can build your schedule, get updates about room changes, and check-in to the sessions you attend for easier attendance tracking. Plus, you can play games to win prizes!

If you’re having trouble with the Whova App, please email Corinne at CTolan@PaVMA.org.

You do not need to pre-register for sessions.

There is a helpful feature in the Whova app that allows you to build your schedule before arriving at the conference. This way, you can select all the lectures that intrigue you, and make your selections from the sessions that overlap.

Session attendance will be tracked more efficiently this year using QR codes! Sign in quickly using the Whova Mobile App or your device’s camera. If you use your phone’s camera to scan the QR check-in code, remember to use the same email address that you used to register.

QR codes will be placed outside of each session room and attendees can check-in as early as 15 minutes before, and no later than 15 minutes after, the session begins. Scanned sessions will be stored in the Whova app, please save a screen shot of the sessions you attend for your records.

Although you can either sign-in digitally using the QR code, or manually using the paper sign-in sheet, the preferred method of sign-in is digitally. This will make tracking your CE credits in the event of an audit more streamlined and efficient.

Please note: your scanned sessions are saved in Whova for 90 days after the conclusion of the conference. Please take a screen shot of the sessions you attended for your records.

All the sessions at PVMA’s Three Rivers Veterinary Symposium will either qualify for scientific continuing education (used toward veterinary and technician license renewal) or practice management continuing education (used toward certified veterinary practice management license renewal).

Tracks designated as “Certified Veterinary Practice Management” on the schedule can only be used for CVPM license renewal. All other tracks are certified for scientific continuing education for veterinarians and CVTs.

Your Certificate of Attendance will be given to you Sunday at the end of the day. Certificates can be picked up at the registration desk.

Only attending for one day? Stop by the registration desk before you leave to pick up your certificate.

In Pennsylvania, veterinarians need 30 clock hours and technicians need 16 clock hours to renew their license. If you have any questions about your license or renewal requirements, please contact the State Board of Veterinary Medicine by calling (717) 783-7134 or visit the PALS Renewal Forms website.

For information about renewing your certified veterinary practice manager’s certification, please refer to the VHMA website.

If the speaker provided proceedings, they are available through the conference app Whova (WHOO-va).

Whova (web browser): Find the “Resources” option on the left panel and click it. One of the options on the drop-down menu will be “Documents.” Click “Documents” and you will be directed to a page with all available proceedings. Alternatively, you can find proceedings for a specific lecture by navigating to “Agenda” on left panel, then sessions. Search the session to see attached proceedings (if available).

From Whova mobile app: From any screen, tap on the agenda button along the bottom, then navigate to the session.

When you are ready to check in, stop by the PVMA registration desk. Your packet includes your name badge and a program with session location and information.

For the most up-to-date information, please download the Whova app! Notifications of room changes and announcements will be made through Whova.
